Philippine Relief Week

The Philippines has been devastated by a strong typhoon that claimed the lives of thousands and left many people homeless and in dire need of whatever help they can get. It is impossible to watch the heartbreaking footage from various media sources and not feel the compulsion to help in any way possible.

In this regard, ISB has graciously designated all of next week as the Philippine Relief Week. We will be conducting activities to help secure donations as part of a relief fund, which will be named as the Philippine Relief Fund. A bank account has been set up in the ISB Business Office and all proceeds from the different activities will be deposited in the account. After a certain point, we will pool all the donations and send it to specific aid organizations in the Philippines, namely: Gawad Kalinga (“ give care”) and Habitat for Humanity Philippines.

The fundraising activities are as follows:

1. Bake Sale: Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the MS/HS Cafeteria.

2. Philippine Lunch: members of the Filipino community will be selling Filipino food for lunch on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm at the MS/HS Cafeteria

3. Donation boxes will be set up in all three divisions (ES, MS, HS) and the CAO office.

Personal donations can be given directly to ISB’s Cashier’s office, indicating that they are for the Philippine Relief Fund. Funds can also be transferred from existing accounts within ISB to this account. Details of  ISB’s account are as follows:
