Grade 12: Seniors, make appointments with counselors to submit your college/university applications. Do not wait to the last minute! The Common App website is new and some students are experiencing difficulty accessing the site, especially as it gets closer to application deadlines! Here is part of a statement from an e-mail Common App sent to counselors, students, and colleges/universities regarding the difficulties the Common App has been experiencing, “The last few days have comprised the most difficult period in The Common Application’s nearly 40 years of service to the education community. You have no doubt read news stories and social media conversations about the challenges facing applicants, recommenders, and member colleges.”
Ms. McDowell presented to Korean parents regarding U.S. university applications.
University Lab is still going strong and continues to be well attended. University Lab continues this Monday and every Monday until December 2.
Grade 11:
Continue to attend college visits and meet with admissions representatives.
Grade 10:
Sophomore Seminar will take place on November 4 and 5 during student free periods on Monday and Tuesday and also during Flex on Monday. Students will be working on a personality inventory called “Do What You Are” which will be accessed through Naviance.
Grade 9:
This week in Freshman Seminar, students continued to focus on their signature character strengths and how they may exercise them in some new ways. We also set a challenge for the next week to identify three things that went well each day, and why that happened. Once identified, students have been asked to journal these positive happenings.
