ES Parent Teacher Conferences Oct. 3-4, 2013
Parent conferences are Thursday and Friday next week. By now you should have made appointments with teachers and received information from your child’s homeroom teacher as to whether they are inviting students to join the conference. If you have not received information about if your child should attend, please clarify with your child’s teacher. Students do not need to wear a uniform on this day.
Online bookings through pick-a time will close on October 1st at 2pm.
Our counselors, Kate Kersey (PreK-2) and Doug Williamson (3-5) are available to attend conferences on Thursday only. They are attending a meeting on Friday and will not be on campus. If you would like their involvement in your child’s conference, please contact them directly.

International Day 2013 – A Great Big Beautiful World
Nicole Wright and Sharane Sherman
International Day is just around the corner on Friday October 11! The students begin celebrations by wearing t-shirts to school on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th that relate to a country or nationality. On Friday, students wear an International costume: simple, traditional, colourful – all are welcome.
Parents are invited to watch ES students proudly parade from the field to the Chevron Theatre in their country outfits from 7.30am on International Day. Students then participate in an Assembly. Due to safety and space constraints, parents will not be able to enter the theatre. Instead, we will stream the assembly live for parents at a to be determined location. The remainder of international day is spent rotating around country themed rooms in classrooms. This year we have 32 rooms. Mark your calendars and talk to your child about dress ideas for this truly special day.
Photo Request For International Day
As we prepare for our annual International Day festivities, we are calling for photos you may have of your children and family out enjoying “Our Big Beautiful World”. We will be using these photos in an all ES display on International Day. The photo you provide needs to showcase a particular place in the world that’s easy to recognize. Please send one electronic photo with your child’s name and location to Vera Day at verad@isb.ac.th on or before October 3rd, 2013.

ISB is a Nut-free Campus
As stated on p. 32 of the Parent Student Handbook, ISB is a nut-free campus. We have many students at our school with serious nut allergies. In order to keep them safe, we do not allow any kind of nuts on our campus at any time. This includes the snacks and lunches that you might send to school with your child. Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our children safe.
After School Supervision – Reminder
Please ensure you know where your child is each afternoon and that maids and nannies understand ISB policy around supervision after school. For safety’s sake, ES students MAY NOT be on campus after school unless supervised by an adult. Thank you for your cooperation.
ES After School Activities Update
After School Activities are well underway. A list of ASA locations remains posted outside the ES office for your reference.
There are limited spaces available in some of our ASA. You can still register but don’t delay! Remember once the ASA schedule begins there are NO REFUNDS however you may change your ASA choice once it is before the third session. I am in the office daily from 1:30pm – 3:30pm if you have any questions or concerns.
