New Parent Literacy Training
Thanks to all of the parents who attended the New Parent Literacy Training on Thursday morning. I really enjoyed working with such a lively, enthusiastic, risk-taking group. If you weren’t able to attend or would like to refer back to discussion points, here is a link to the New Parent Literacy Training presentation which you can download to your computer. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

ES Height & Weight Screening and ES Yearbook Photos
The height and weight screening and yearbook photos will take place the week of Sept. 9 through Sept. 13, 2013 in the ES MPR. This is fully co-ordinated by ISB.
ES PTA Meeting – Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at 9:30 am
You are invited to attend the first formal ES PTA meeting of the year in the ESMPR. Planning for International Day is on the agenda as is introducing our new Coordinator, following Cory Fox’s move to PTA President. Please join us!
ISB is a Nut-free Campus
As stated on p. 32 of the Parent Student Handbook, ISB is a nut-free campus. We have many students at our school with serious nut allergies. In order to keep them safe, we do not allow any kind of nuts on our campus at any time. This includes the snacks and lunches that you might send to school with your child. Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our children safe.
After School Supervision—Rule—Reminder
This week, there have been several ES students found playing and hanging out after school – sometimes waiting for older siblings or parents, or just not going home after school finishes. Parents – please ensure you know where your child is each afternoon and that maids and nannies understand ISB policy around supervision after school. For safety’s sake, ES students MAY NOT be on campus after school unless supervised by an adult. Thank you for your cooperation.

This Semester’s After School Activity program will begin on Monday, September 23rd.

Cafeteria News…Did You Know…?
…That about 98% of what we serve in the Cafeteria is home baked, hand cut, hand grated, home cooked, and hand prepared by us every morning. This includes all the items at The Grind, the hamburger buns for BBQ Friday, the baguette bread for the sandwiches, the tortillas for the ES Canteen, the Pineapple Juice for our punch, our slow brewed iced tea, and the home roasted and hand cut meats at the sandwich bar. We believe that Basic is Best. Food in its basic form carries the most amount of nutrients for our bodies and is optimally digested, hence allowing us the maximum benefits from the foods we eat. Epicure Catering welcomes a fresh delivery of produce and meats daily, striving to use recipes with only the most natural ingredients. We look forward to another year of providing well balanced, nutritious, tasty meals to all of our very eager and hungry customers, mainly your kids. Enjoy.

After 1:00 PK dismissal, the playground should only be used by Kindergarteners for their scheduled recess. Your cooperation is appreciated.
