End of year message
Philip Bradley
philipb@isb.ac.th
Dear Parents and Students
This is the last communication of the 2012 – 2013 school year and I wish you all a safe, relaxing and enjoyable break, I hope you get to spend time with both your immediate and extended families. To our graduating seniors and other departing students I wish you all success in your future endeavours and that your memories of ISB and the values that guide us as a community stay with you.
To returning students I look forward to seeing you all again at 7:15 on Tuesday August 13th!
To our rising Freshmen,
I was delighted to attend the grade 8 moving on ceremony on Thursday and would like to echo the warm and sincere welcome that Jin Ahn, our newly elected High School student council president, extended to the class of 2017. You are certainly a talented and reflective class who are leaving Middle School well prepared for the years ahead. Enjoy your vacation and come back ready for fresh challenges and new successes.
Sincerely
Philip Bradley

PowerSchool Access and Report Cards
Dennis Harter
dennish@isb.ac.th
As we complete the grading process, we will reactivate PowerSchool Access for students and parents and send out Report Cards. PowerSchool access will be returned on Monday, June 10th at 9 am. Report cards will be mailed to families addresses on record, during next week. Students who have not returned all materials or have outstanding fees will remain blocked until the issues are resolved.
Holds on Student Information
Dennis Harter
dennish@isb.ac.th
If students have not returned their school-issued laptop and charger (grades 9 & 10) or have missing textbooks or other school materials or fees, a hold is put on their student information. Report cards, transcripts and PowerSchool access will be held until the issues are resolved. ISB will send an email to parents and students, if there is a hold placed on this information for your child. The email will specifically list the issue and provide directions for resolving it. This email will go out early next week.
Counseling Newsletter
Kevin Callahan
kevinc@isb.ac.th
Along with our graduating Seniors and leaving students, we are saying goodbye to Dr. Jeff Harper, who has been helping young people here at ISB for 17 years. Dr. Harper’s knowledge, wisdom, and good humor will be sorely missed by everyone in the high school. We wish him a grand adventure as the new counselor at the International School of Aberdeen, Scotland. Best of luck Dr. Harper and thanks for a great run here at ISB!
Transcripts will be available after June 14th. You can contact Khun Namwan, our registrar, with any requests for transcripts. You need to request transcripts 10 working days in advance. Please DO NOT come to the high school office and expect a transcript to be prepared while you wait. Plan ahead!
Rising 12th graders – The Common Application is being redesigned and the essay questions are all new. Don’t work on a draft for an old essay that won’t be required on the application that you will send in! The essays for the next application cycle (Class of 2014) can be found at this link:
https://www.commonapp.org/
Get started on your essay this summer, it will save you lots of grief later!
The counselors will be out of the office from June 8th until August 3rd. Please don’t assume that they will be checking emails regularly – if you have an urgent need you should contact the High School office at 963-5887 or 963-5883.
Seniors – Congratulations from all of us on your graduation. You made it! There is a page in The International that truly captures the Class of 2013.
Students in other grades have made comments about the Senior class and how they see the seniors – a very impressive group of young men and women as expressed by their younger classmates. We’d like to wish you all the best during the summer months. Those of you who are moving, we wish you a fond farewell and all the best at your new school; those of you who will be returning, enjoy your summer months, have some interesting adventures and we’ll see you in August.
HS Girls Soccer Program
Kevin Davy
kevind@isb.ac.th
The HS Girls Soccer program will be having open training sessions the week of August 5-9. Coach Davy will be running the sessions that will take place between 5-6:30 in the evening. Players will meet at the main field to train.
Working on establishing a solid fitness base during the summer months is very important. Below is a link to some specific soccer exercises you can work on. Coach Wah and some of our resident personal trainers have shared these exercises with us.

In addition, here is a 8 week fitness program that will prepare you very well for pre-season. You can embed some of the exercises from the program above into this program.
Have a great summer and be fit and healthy on your return.

Dear Soccer Players,
Its important to remember that what you do over the summer break will greatly increase your chances of having a good try-out.
