PowerSchool Access Returned for Seniors

Dennis Harter
dennish@isb.ac.th

Grades for seniors have been stored and completed.  As such, PowerSchool access has been restored.  Please note that if there is a hold on a student’s account due to missing school books or other materials, access may still be blocked.  Help your children go through their rooms looking for textbooks, school cameras, or other school resources that need returning.  Please resolve all outstanding fees and materials in order to ensure that there is a diploma in that folder on graduation day!

Make sure all school materials (including laptops and chargers) are returned

Dennis Harter
dennish@isb.ac.th

Please help your children find all of their textbooks, library books, sports uniforms, and other school materials.  Laptops AND chargers will be collected from all grade 9 and 10 students on Thursday, June 6th.  Students may turn them in earlier with Ed Tech.  All students received an email explaining back up procedures.  Students will be asked to assess the condition of their laptop.  If any items or fees are still owed the school, report cards, PowerSchool access, and transcripts will be withheld until all issues are resolved.  Fees can be paid at the cashier’s office once you know which materials are missing.

Exam Attendance and Leaving Campus

Dennis Harter
dennish@isb.ac.th

HS students are only expected at school during their exams.  They are welcome to study in the library, socialize in the cafeteria or meet with teachers during non-exam time if they wish, however they are not required to be at school.  That said, they may only exit campus if they have a parent-signed Early Departure Form.  Students who do not have this form must stay on campus until 2:05 pm.  As you can expect, we cannot make personal calls to parents with over 500 students taking exams.

Counseling Newsletter
Cathy Curtis
cathyc@isb.ac.th

As the year winds down, we want to express our great appreciation for all of those parents who helped us in the Counseling Office as Parent Volunteers.  They have directly contributed to all of the students at ISB in many ways and we honestly appreciate the time and effort they have given to the department and to all of our students.  Many, many thanks!

Great Study Tips!

If you haven’t seen it yet, ask your son/daughter for the latest copy of The International.  The article on Study Tips is fabulous and one we’d like to encourage both students and parents to read.

Seniors

The Seniors all have their Check Out forms which are due on June 5.  Since teachers are in the midst of grading final exams and trying to get report card comments ready, they are often times not in their classrooms.  It might be a good idea for seniors to come back to school to make sure they have plenty of time to get teacher signatures before the 5th.

Speaking of the Seniors and The International, there is also another page in The International that truly captures the Class of 2013.  Students in other grades have made comments about the Senior class and how they see the seniors – a very impressive group of young men and women as expressed by their younger classmates.

If you’re headed out of Bangkok before the last e-communications comes out, we’d like to wish you all the best during the summer months.  Those of you who are moving, we wish a fond farewell and all the best at your new school; those of you who will be returning, enjoy your summer months, have some interesting adventures and we’ll see you in August.

World Medical Center

This coming Monday 3rd June at 4pm, staff from World Medical Center will present an information session for parents, staff and other members of the school community in the Elementary School MPR.  World Medical Center is a brand new hospital on Chaeng Wattana, less than ten minutes drive from ISB and very convenient for Nichada families.  Their staff will provide information about the services they currently provide and will answer any questions you may have.  The session should last around 30-45 minutes.  All are welcome to join.
