Coaches Corner

ES mathematicians continue to work hard this last trimester refining and developing efficient strategies in number sense.  In order to build strong conceptual understandings, students focus on explaining their thinking of math operations, in addition to the application and fluency of math facts.   In the classroom, children are given the opportunity to gain fluency through a combination of games and explicit instruction based on individual needs.  Please feel free to visit the sites below for extra fluency practice at home.

At this month’s parent training, parents focused on the development of multiplication strategies across the elementary grade levels by building awareness of the variety of strategies that students use in the classroom so that they could better support their children with homework and explaining their thinking at home.
