It is HOT out there! How are our PE teachers/coaches being proactive?

With the arrival of our hotter weather in the last few weeks, you may be wondering about your child outdoors involved in physical activity.  We take this opportunity to remind you that we actually have the following practices in place all year long, but that we definitely pay more special attention to them now that it has been much hotter out there than usual.  We do take a proactive role and insure there is an adequate supply of ice water out on the fields both during PE classes during the day, and during after school events.  Students are encouraged to bring their own water bottle to class etc and reminded by their PE teacher/coach to drink plenty of water and often.  Teachers/coaches do monitor students and activities regarding pacing and make adjustments as needed due to the heat level.
