ES Parent Training
The Reading Workshop: Book Clubs
Students are encouraged to read, read and read some more both at school and at home. In grades 2-5, teachers monitor student understanding as well as teach life-long skills through book clubs. The book club structure provides students an opportunity to share their learning with others around a similar topic or title. In book clubs, they share their thinking and learn to work collaboratively by building on the ideas of others, looking for common threads across different titles, identify themes, encouraging others to participate in conversations, and more. If you would like to learn more about book clubs and participate in one yourself, please consider attending one of the workshops below. I’m looking forward to reading with you!

Please note that next Friday, April 5th, Archery class will be cancelled. Make up class will be on May 17th.
We are half way through our After School Activity program!
There are limited spaces available in some of our ASA. You can still register and a fee pro rata will be arranged for you but don’t delay! Most of ASA have already hosted their 5th session so there are no longer any changes permitted.
Livnat Ziskinder, our After School Activities Coordinator, is in the office daily from 1:30pm – 3:30pm if you have any questions or concerns.
After School Supervision – Expectations
All students are expected to go home at the end of the school day (2:05pm) unless they have a school-sponsored After-School Activity. Students may not be on campus after school unless supervised by an adult.
Book Donation
On April 25 and 26 the Fifth Grade will be holding its Annual Used Book Sale. We are proud to be one of the main contributors of donations to Mercy Centre, found in the Klong Toey Area of Bangkok. They use this money to send children to school and to run educational programs.
However, in order for this to be successful, WE NEED YOUR HELP! While you are spring cleaning over the next few weeks, could you please look for books and magazines to donate?
Books to Donate
Children’s books
Young Adult books Fiction and Non Fiction
Adult Fiction and Non Fiction
Appropriate magazines
We also had a small section last year of Kids Toys that sold like hotcakes! If you have any games that you no longer play (with all of the pieces J), you could donate them as well.
We have a box already in place outside of the ES Office.
Thank you for your assistance!

The 14th Annual Colgate Kids Triathlon is just around the corner. The race will take place on Monday, May 6th (Coronation Day substitute) at 7:30AM starting at two the ISB pools. It’s shaping up to be an incredible event! Again this year the triathletes will receive timing chips to wear around their ankles for accurate time and distance recording. The Relay Race will again allow relay teams in each age division (based upon the oldest participant in the relay team), so athletes can form teams of three people to participate together. One of the relay team members can be a teacher or other adult this year.
The distances this year will be:
5-6: 50m swim, 1 km bike, 450m run
7-8: 100m swim, 2.5 km bike, 800m run
9-10: 150m swim, 4.5 km bike, 1.2 km run
11-12: 200m swim, 4.5 km bike, 1.7 km run
13-14: 250m swim, 6.8 km bike, 2.4 km run
15+ : 350m swim, 9.1 km bike, 3.1 km run
Registration will close on Monday, April 29th. No late registrations will be permitted so make sure you register before the close date! The fee per participant is THB 500 (THB 1,500 for relay teams). All participants will receive a water bottle, towel and race bag.
All registrations must provide one volunteer to help on race day or pay a THB 1,000 (no volunteer fee)
Please note that all bike riders must have their own bicycle and must wear a helmet.
More information and the registration link can be found at our Kids Triathlon website:
