Uniform Matters

Parents please speak to your children regarding the school uniform.  Uniform shirts and “bottoms” must be from our school bookstore.  Pants, shorts, and skirts from other stores are not allowed.  I point this out because students who are out of uniform at times blame their parents for not having purchased school clothes.  Please check that your child has the proper uniform so that they cannot use this excuse.  Additionally, please ensure that the length of skirts and shorts extend beyond their fingertips when they are standing up straight.  Rolling up the shorts beyond this height is also not allowed.  Flip flops and/or beach sandals are not acceptable footwear.  For more information on the uniform requirements, please see pages 21-22 of the Student Handbook.

We ask for help in this so that attention at school can be focused on learning, rather than on fashion statements and appearance.  I appreciate your support.  On our side, we will continue to pull students in and assign disciplinary consequences for those students out of uniform.  This may result in after-school detention, missed class time (due to having to change into school uniform), or Saturday detention.  Please see the Student Handbook, page 30, for more information on the consequences.
