BISAC SPORTS Season 3: All the details, including how to sign up for Tennis are HERE.

Chinese New Year Celebration in the middle school happened on Friday. Check out some of the photos HERE.

Robotics and First Lego League.  Good luck to our Robotics team as they prepare for their First Lego League (FLL) Competition next Friday, February 22. To learn more about what they have been doing to prepare, check out their presentation HERE.

Intramural Volleyball after school on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday next week. This is another great opportunity to practice before Volleyball tryouts on February 27.

Go Bald Challenge sponsored by the GIN students continues next week. If you want to clear out all the coins in your house, this is a great way to do it. Send them with your child so they can “vote” on which MS staff member (Mr. Jamgochian, Mr. Huxtable, Dr. Regis, Mr. Rubin, Mr. Davy, Ms. Alegria, or Josh) will shave their head. All proceeds will go to the Wishing Well Foundation, which grants wishes to kids with cancer.

Habitat for Humanity. The next build is on Saturday, March 2.  Members can find permission forms on the Haiku site.  If you’re not yet a member, see Mr. Tague or Mrs. Pine-Petthong.

SPIN (Supporting People in Need) raised over 10,000 baht with their candy hearts and Hersey kisses sale for Valentine Day.

MS Biking Adventure on March 9. Join us on a half-day biking trip in “The Bangkok Jungle”!  Just across the Chao Phraya River, a short hop from busy Sukhumvit, is an extraordinary place known to the locals as Bang Kra Jao. Contact Mr. B. T. ( maurilib@isb.ac.th) if your child is interested. Permission forms will be available outside the SOAR Center, from Mr. B.T., and online inthemix. Permission slips, with full payment, are due back by 3:00pm on Thursday, February 21 – first 21 received get to go!

TEDxYouth@ISBangkok. Although this was a high school event, these students were in middle school only two years ago! Check out some inspirational ted talks by some ISB 10th graders.

Cafeteria News…Did You Know…?

That the best way to keep our bodies energized and hydrated in this hot weather is not through sports energy drinks or mineral powders; these are full of artificial colorings, flavorings, high in sugar and all sorts of other things no one can understand.  Rather, take a look at a fruit indigenous to Thailand and is a drink at the same time – the Coconut.  Coconut water and flesh is full of potassium, calcium, chloride and natural salts, so that it becomes nature’s most perfect electrolyte and energy drink.  Moreover, it is Antiviral, Antibacterial, Anti-inflammatory and an Antioxidant, hence a total immune booster.  We are proud to announce our new Smoothie of the Month available at the Grind: Coco Loco.  What’s inside?  Simple: Fresh Coconut, Coconut Water and a pinch of sugar.  In this climate, one could consider it to be the ‘perfect smoothie’, not to mention it is simply delicious.  Enjoy.
