Book Donations for the “Reading Room”, Philippines

On 27 February the IASAS Dance and Drama teams will travel to Manila for their annual Cultural Convention.

ISB students understand that cultural exchange extends beyond the borders of the IASAS community, so this year the Culcon delegates decided to support a local charity affiliated to ISM called the “Reading Room”. This initiative accepts donations in the form of books and materials to create libraries in (mostly elementary) schools in the Philippines. Bringing books to Manila and giving them to the charity will help underprivileged Filipino children, especially because they will enjoy learning how to read in English, which is a national language in the Philippines.

If you have any books (for children or adults) that are no longer needed, please be so kind to place them in one of the drop boxes in front of the Administration building and the ES library. We are hoping to raise tons of books. Those that can’t be transported to Manila will be given to the Elementary School for their 5th grade book sale, so all books will be put to very good use.
