New Student Lunch
Philip  Bradley
philipb@isb.ac.th

This Thursday the administration and counsellors hosted a lunchtime get together for all students who have joined ISB since July 2012 (some new students were travelling to IASAS). It was an informal gathering over some good food and an opportunity for students to give feedback regarding their transition to ISB – what was good about the school and what suggestions they would make for improvement. Fresh eyes are always good. There was a wide range in terms of the feedback given but a few patterns were evident. The quality of facilities, range of opportunities and friendly nature of ISB was remarked upon as being noticeably good. Common themes in the suggestions included; too much Homework, cold classrooms and a lack of a student common room – things for us to reflect upon. If you are the parent of a new student and have comments you would like to make please feel free to contact me.

As we gear up for the Global Citizenship Week on February 18-22, HS students will be having their final preparation meetings on Tuesday.  Parents are welcome to attend if they wish.  Please keep in mind that the agenda for the meeting is full and teachers will be confirming final details with their students.

It is important that all passports and necessary visas are in order, so please confirm that this is the case if your children are traveling outside of Thailand.

Big Thanks- to all the parents in attendance for the Junior Parent meeting the evening of January 29.

Seniors: You may receive notice from your University about an updated transcript.  Mid-Year reports (including Transcript) went out to all universities between January 25 and January 29.

As University decisions come in, students should notify their counselor.  This is important information for future students!

IASAS Cultural Convention Participants
Kerri Fitzgerald
kerrif@isb.ac.th

IASAS Cultural Convention participants must ALL hand in their passports on Feb 26th – this is a very tight turn around due to GCW. Please either stop in at the Activities Office with your teen’s passport over the next week so we can make our usual checks, or scan and send both the passport expiry date and the Visa re entry pages.   This will be helpful prior to the actual collection day of Feb 26th. If your teen does not need his/her passport for GCW, please hand in on February 13th. Thank you.

IASAS Cultural Convention Showcases (Visual Arts, Dance,  Drama, Music, Debate and Forensics) begin in the week Feb 11- 15 th. Details of each showcase are given in the whole school enews.
