The next “First Friday with Andy” will take place on Friday 1st February at 9:00am in the new Business Office Conference Room (aka Orange Room).
“First Friday with Andy” is an open forum for parents to meet informally with the Head of School and address any topics of interest or concern. No signing up is necessary – simply come and participate if you are free and interested.
CELEBRITY DEBATE

The topic for the debate is: This House believes that school attendance should be voluntary. The teachers/ admin team (Mr Bradley, Mr. Harter and Ms Stewart) will take on the IASAS CC Debate team on Friday February 1st. at lunch time beginning 10:45am. Speeches will only be 2-3 minutes, with points of Information allowed from the beginning of the speech. Mr. Bowman will be the Chairperson, and he will no doubt be expecting a frenzy of ridiculous arguments.

Julia Simens, author of Emotional Resilience and the Expat Child, will be presenting once again to parents in the ISB Community at 8 a.m. in the New Theater/Cultural Center. Her new presentation –
OUR KIDS: Filtering & Connecting- How to deal with the many challenges our international kids face in today’s fast paced world!

Payment to be made to Khun Fon in the CAO [Community Activities Office] near the school shop.
* once registration closes, only private lessons will be available to new or late comers as not to interrupt programs & player development
Please note the following changes:
- There is now a 1.5hr Competitive as well as a 2hr. Intensive Competitive level of training.
- Competitive training levels require players to register for at least 2 sessions per week.
- To qualify & be selected for BISAC U15 Boys & Girls: Players must be registered for the 2 hr. Intensive Competitive level, twice a week.
- Term 3 is 3 weeks longer than Term 2 [February 18th – May 12]. Fees for the term are thus higher because of the longer session.
- Term 3 fees have increased slightly, in order to cover government taxes, of which we were previously unaware.
- The Varsity/IASIS season will be complete, thus there is greater court availability & no more cancellations due to their court usage.

IASAS CULTURAL CONVENTION

IASAS CULTURAL CONVENTION (hosted by ISM) is coming up and everyone is invited to the CC showcases. It’s like our very own Arts Festival!
From February 12 – 15th the CC Art exhibition of the 25 pieces chosen to be taken to Manila will go on display (Library), then, on February 12th the CC Dance Showcase will be held in the CCT (2 shows – 3:30pm and 6:00pm).
The very next day, Wednesday February 13th, the CC Debate and Forensics participants will showcase their talents 2:15 – 3:15pm in the Library Pit. CC Music delegates will perform both Wednesday and Thursday 13-14th February from 3:15 – 5:15pm in the HS Choir room. Lastly, CC Drama students will take to the stage on Thursday February 14th in the CCT at 6:00pm – ONE show only. This Drama is only suitable for those aged 13 years and over. No younger viewers thanks.
Come and be amazed at the wealth of talent at ISB.

Submitting an announcement for publication
ISB accepts announcements from ISB families for potential publication in our eNewsletters. The announcements are generally intended to highlight events that occur at ISB and/or highlight information about ISB.
What to include in the announcement

The ISB eNewsletter that is for the entire community is sent out on Thursdays. Announcements for potential publication in this newsletter must be received by noon on Thursdays.
