Dear ISB Families:
In order to maintain a safe environment on campus, it is necessary that we practice our emergency and crisis response plans by holding regular drills throughout the year. This enables students to know how to act during our various drills and helps the school make improvements to our safety procedures.
We conduct various drills through out the school year. If you are visiting campus during one of these evacuations or dills, please follow the directions of school administrators.
Lockdown Drill
Our first Lockdown Drill of 2013 will be held on Monday January 28 at 12:15 pm.
The purpose of a Lockdown situation is to safely shelter all students, school personnel and visitors inside the building and keep students, staff and community members safe from any dangerous person(s) or situations outside or inside the building. During a Lockdown all students, visitors, and school personnel will be situated inside classrooms or offices. Classroom and office doors will be locked until the danger outside or inside the building is removed. No one will be allowed to enter or leave the campus during a Lockdown.
If parents are visiting campus during a Lockdown, please enter the nearest classroom or office and lock the door until further instructions come from school administration on the PA system.
Evacuation Drills
The school conducts several “evacuation drills” throughout the year. The aims are for each student to understand and be aware of the importance of this drill and not be afraid when the alarm is sounded. By practicing, students will know what to do and how to do it. If you are visiting campus during one of these evacuations, please follow students or teachers exiting the building to their outside assembly point.
SMS Emergency Contact
ISB uses SMS services to contact parents in case of emergency situations as well as other urgent school updates. Please ensure that ISB has your current mobile phone numbers so that you receive these messages when needed. You may update your mobile numbers and email addresses on record by logging into the Parent Portal on the ISB website (https://www.isb.ac.th) and clicking on SMS & News Subscription in the left hand side navigation bar. If you are unable to access this portal, you can update your mobile phone number with the cashier at ISB (issues with Parent Portal access can be brought to Ed Tech on the third floor of ISB).
If you have any questions regarding any of these procedures or other safety concerns, please contact our Headmistress Khun Usa at usomboon@isb.ac.th or by calling extension 1146.
Sincerely,
Dr. Andrew Davies
