Emergency Communication via SMS

by Wendy van Bramer
register@isb.ac.th

Many of our new ISB families may not know that in the event that we need to communicate a school closure or other important announcements, ISB will send notifications to the ISB community via SMS.  It has come to our attention that many of our new parents still have not provided us with their local Thai mobile phone numbers.  So that you don’t miss an important message, please go to the parent portal at https://inside.isb.ac.th/parentportal/  click on “family information.”  Then log in to update your contact details (your login details are: username-your ISB ID number and the password-your surname in capitals).

We thank you in advance for your assistance.

by Kerry Dyke
kerryd@isb.ac.th

“Unless… someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing will ever get better. It’s not.”

Please join us on October 16th in the Cultural Center’s new theatre at 2:15 pm where we will be showing the movie and classic story “THE LORAX.”

It’s a fun movie to be enjoyed by all ages, so we welcome students and parents.   It will also be the start of our new campaign at ISB to do a whole school environmental project (you will find out what it is after the movie).

The movie is free, and we will even have bubble tea (please bring your own cup if you can).

We hope to see you there.

Choral Bash Oct 17th 6:30 in the Chevron

by Kerri Fitzgerald
kerrif@isb.ac.th

Feeling a tad jaded? Come and hear the glorious sound of our ES, MS and HS choirs – sounds and songs to raise the heartbeat and the spirits; including “Bridge Over Troubled Water” , folk songs…  Harry Belafonte and even a Native American soundscape. Seats will be at a premium so please come early and PLEASE NO saving of seats for late comers as it makes it very difficult to gauge capacity and to usher. We will stream this event into the CCT so once the Chevron is full the spill over can be seated in there.

thanks

Kerri Fitzgerald

Cross Cultural Club – clothing donations needed

by Andrew Cohen
andrewc@isb.ac.th

CROSS CULTURE CLUB is kindly seeking clothing donations for our visit to Ming De School in Chiang Rai during the October break.  Look for boxes labeled “Cross Culture Club Clothing Drive” in front of the HS/MS library and HS/MS/ES offices.  We will be accepting donations from Monday, October 8 until Friday, October 19.  Please bring clothing suitable for children ages 3-18 (winter clothes especially, as it gets cold in Chiang Rai in the Winter!).  We greatly appreciate your generosity.

The students have been working very hard and wish to make a significant contribution to the school when they visit in October.

Thank you for your help, and please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,

Andrew Cohen
HS English Teacher
Cross Culture Club Advisor
