ISB After School Dance

After School Dance is a full-year recreational dance program. During the first semester teachers and students focus on learning specific dance skills, vocabulary and technique. Second semester, the classes build on this foundation, work on developing the choreography for our annual Dance Concert.

STEP 1 – Complete On-line Placement Assessment Registration by 16th August, before the Placement Assessments at:-

All Dancers (returning and new students) must pre-register online.
If you have more than one Dancer in your family please select one dancer at a time (you will be prompted to add additional family members before completing the process). You will have the option to specify which styles of Dance you wish to participate in, you may select from –

Pk/Kg Dance         PreK-Kg Dance
Jazz, Tap, Ballet    Gr 1 – 12

Pointe                    Gr 6 – 12
Street/Funk           Gr 4 – 12

STEP 2 – Attend one of the Placement Assessment Sessions in the New Theatre Foyer.
Assessments are designed to determine accurate numbers of dancers (returning and new) wishing to enroll and at which level. Dancers should arrive 10 minutes before one of their Grades scheduled sessions prepared for a Dance class (appropriate shoes / clothes / hair). Dancers will be asked to copy dance steps with a group of dancers of a similar age.

Dancers unable to attend a placement session will be placed at the beginner level.

STEP 3 – Registration/Payment Period Monday 27th August – Friday 31st August, 9am – 2.30pm  in Community  Activities Office, and Saturday 1st September 9am – 10.30am – Students should be aware that neither Pre-Registering or attending a Placement Session guarantees that ASD will be able to accommodate all requests. Dancers returning to the same style that they participated in May 2012 will be given priority. All fees must be paid during this period. Class lists and a schedule will be available.
