Dear Parents of Thai male students who are planning to take the Ror Dor Training,
It has been brought to our attention that the Ministry of Defense has issued new regulations regarding the age of students who are eligible for Ror Dor traning. According to the new rules the cut off age is 17 years old. Students who are 15 years old at the time of registration are no longer eligible. That means two years (11-12 grades) of attending the Ror Dor program at the high school level and the third year the students are expected to fulfill during their study in university or college in Thailand.
This new rule will impact students who are attending international schools as the majority of them are more likely will be attending university or college abroad. Thus they will miss the chance to complete their Ror Dor training, and therefore will not be in compliance with the Thai law.
ISB is in the process of working with Ministry of Defense to adjust or change this regulation. We are hopeful to obtain a practical and positive solution for our students. We will let you know as soon as we have the conclusion. Enquiry, please contact Khun Pongsak Srisomsup at 02 963 5800 ext 6609 or 081 713-1174
