Exams are just around the corner for grades 9 – 11.  This is a good time to start preparing so that the night before the exam, students can get a good night’s sleep and wake up refreshed and ready to do their best.  Planning a study schedule now will help students avoid last minute cramming.

Freshmen – Counselors met with each 9th grade student last week.  Part of this visit was just to see how the year went and part was dedicated to helping each student consider the best way to study him/her to study for final exams.  Most 9th grade students seem to be doing a very good job getting enough sleep and truly are trying to use their time wisely.  As a class, they are prepared to study for their final exams and ready to begin year 10 in August.

Grades 9, 10 and 11 – have received their course selections for next year.  Each student should consider the choices carefully and come see their counselor if they are in doubt about the choices they have made.  Changing schedules in August is never a good, so students should be spot on with their choices.  Students still have two weeks to visit with their counselor.

Seniors – Senior Exams are just around the corner and seniors need to be setting time aside to study for those exams.

Senior Transition, a day just for Seniors (!), will be on May 28th starting at 7:30am in the Chevron.

Cathy Curtis visited Yale-NUS College in Singapore this past weekend.  This new college is part of the National University of Singapore but has a residential liberal arts curriculum.  Faculty will be hired by Yale-NUS College and students will be admitted by Yale-NUS College.  The first class will begin in August of 2013.  Yale-NUS College as well Yale University will visit ISB on May 25 at 10:20.  This is a very interesting option for students who would like an American Liberal Arts experience but stay here in Asia.

Reminder to All: Requests for documents (transcript, letters of recommendation, etc.) for summer programs or transferring to another high school (leaving ISB), please allow three weeks for processing.  Requests should be made to the student’s counselor.
