Math Specialists in International Schools – November 2&3 Session

November 2 - November 3

Math Specialist in International  Schools (MSIS)

The MSIS is a two year certificate program designed for K-8 classroom teachers of mathematics. The certificate is issued by Project AERO through the Office of  Overseas Schools. (presented by Erma Anderson and Jacob Johanssen) This program will be open to teachers outside of ISB with ISB educators receiving enrollment preference. There will be a required commitment from personal ISB  PL funds.

The program is a cohort program focusing on mathematics content specific to the K-8 AERO Mathematics Standards. The design of the program is a coherent sequence of four 2-day institutes (plus 3 one-hour online follow ups) designed to enhance teacher understanding of mathematics, how students learn the mathematics, and how to determine evidence of student understanding of mathematics. (see linked flyer for additional details)

This is a two year commitment and the dates of the second year institutes will be confirmed by the March session.

November 2 & 3, 2024

March 8 & 9, 2025

The cost is $400 per institute session (payable in two installments of $800; total of  $1600 over two school years qualifies for ISB PL funds) for the MSIS program and includes all institute materials, snacks, and lunch. ISB teachers will have priority registration.

Please contact us at proflearning@isb.ac.th or email Debi Caskey (debic@isb. ac.th) if you want to register for the program, have questions, or need further information.
