Reminder: Diversity Collaborative School Survey |
The Diversity Collaborative, in conjunction with CIS and the Center for International Education at George Mason University, is conducting a survey to collect baseline data about the gender and cultural diversity of teachers, heads of schools, leadership teams, and board members in international schools in order to better understand the career path for leadership positions. To date, nearly 80 schools have completed the survey. If your school has not filled out the survey, we appreciate your encouraging your school to complete this survey and sharing the demographic make-up of your schools’ teachers, senior staff, top leadership, and board. The link to the survey is posted below. All responses are anonymous. Data from the survey will be collected and stored at George Mason University and made available strictly for research purposes. The session will explore how to ensure that recruitment systems that are put in place are consistent, inclusive and aligned with the values of the organization. The series of workshops will be interactive, with anecdotes, and practice scenarios. Learn more/Register here. |

9-12 April 2021 – Annual Meeting (held virtually) Accepting Educational ResponsibilityEducation researchers are not merely scholars; we are also citizens of the places in which our scholarship is produced, disseminated, and implemented. Equity and justice in these places depend as much on our deep thinking as they do on what we do with what we know. Racism, xenophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, homophobia, and other manifestations of hate continually poison these places. Mass shootings occur in too many places close to where we live and do our academic work. Sexism, sexual harassment, and sexual assault occur too often within and beyond our workplaces. Myriad consequences of wealth inequity negatively affect people inside of and around the places where many of us think, teach, research, and write. Attendees of the 2021 AERA Annual Meeting will be empowered to accept greater responsibility for social problems that plague places around the world. Our identities as citizens and as scholars will be embraced. Learn more. |
