Dear Friends of Project Zero,
We are writing to let you know about two new learning opportunities designed by Ron Ritchhart and instructed by Ron and Mark Church focusing on the seminal Creating Cultures of Thinking work. If you are looking for a brief but practice-based learning opportunity designed to give you ideas about how to build a culture of thinking in your context, as well as tools and strategies you can use right away, these 4-week online mini courses are for you. The first of these courses coming in October, Creating Cultures of Thinking 1: An Introduction, explores the following questions:
- Why does classroom culture matter so much to our students’ learning?
- How does classroom culture convey a story to our learners about what’s important to learn and how learning happens?
- How can we begin to change the culture of our classroom and schools to more effectively support student learning and thinking?
Mini courses are structured for busy educators so they can work on their own time, try things out in their classrooms or other learning contexts, get feedback, and benefit from regular PZ instructor and facilitator input. Learn from and with educators in similar contexts, subject areas and grade levels. The courses are team-based—sign up with others on a team, or sign up on your own to be placed on a virtual team. Register now for these exciting opportunities to learn with Ron and Mark!
