CARE Framework (Center for Antiracist Education)

If you want to do antiracist work as an educator, but you’re not quite sure whether you’re doing the things that will make the biggest impact, this week’s resource will be one you’ll return to again and again.
 
The Center for Antiracist Education is a new organization that works with educators to identify antiracist curriculum, build antiracist expertise, and demonstrate what works. Their CARE Framework is a wonderfully detailed “roadmap” for doing antiracist work as an educator. Built around five core principles, the framework offers specific guidance on what it looks like to put the principles into action.
 
In this article, CARE’s Academic Director Val Brown introduces the framework and explains how best to use it.
