10 highlights to talk about for the week

Students: Are your parents asking what happened in school today? This week? Parents: Not getting much of a response when you ask your child what is happening at school? Well, here is a list of 10 events that have happened or will happen soon at school. Hopefully, there is at least one item on the list that you can talk about this weekend.

1. Track & Field meet needs parent volunteers. Wednesday, May 16th,  ISB, NIST, and BPS will have a practice track and field meet to get ready for the big event just 10 days later.  We need about 10 people to help out on that day from 3:00 – 5:00. The jobs are simple and easy to learn in a minute. If you would like to help out.  Please fill out this short form. https://docs.google.com/a/isb.ac.th/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEZ5cDR0ZFR0Qjc4N3NrRkRBc3BKbVE6MQ

2. Congratulations to our Young Writers. The winning submissions have been selected. Check out the YWA blog for the results. https://inside.isb.ac.th/youngwriters/

3. Swords! Castles! Zombies! Shakespeare! Yes, the middle school spring production, Hamlet, Zombie Killer of Denmark hits the New Theatre stage this week. This phenomenally fun show starts with a short Shakespeare “mash-up” and then jumps into a witty and intelligent adaptation of Hamlet!  Tickets will be sold at middle school lunches, Tuesday’s high school lunch, and at the door.  Show times: Thursday, May 17th at 6:30pm and Friday, May 18th at 3:00pm.

4. Congratulations to all 230 band students. Amazing performance on Thursday night. Check out photos of the concert on our flickr site. https://www.flickr.com/photos/isbmiddleschool/sets/

5. Thanks to All Who Took Part in Mr. S’ TIE SALE! 10,000 baht was raised  to go to the 8th Grade Hoops for Hearts fundraiser!  AND some lovely ties have some wonderful new homes!  Thanks!

6. Grade 8 Students will be shooting freethrows on Monday to raise money for the Hoops for Hearts fundraiser.

7 & 8. MS Socials coming soon. On Saturday, May 19 at 5:00pm, 6th & 7th graders will be having their end of the year social. For more details including a permission form, click HERE. The 8th Grade Social will take place the following Saturday, May 26 at the Impact Center. Details for this social can be found HERE.

9. BISAC Sports this weekend. U15 Boys & Girls Softball and U15 Boys Tennis Tournaments start at 8:00am, Saturday at ISB, while the U15 Girls Tennis Team plays at BPS. Come out and support the teams.

10. Dream Big by Reading! Summer reading check-out has begun. Books checkout now can be kept for the entire summer. And if you have not heard, the library will be going through a huge renovation project this summer. So next year we will have a “new” library.
