10 Highlights to talk about for the week

Students: Are your parents asking what happened in school today? This week? Parents: Not getting much of a response when you ask your child what is happening at school? Well, here is a list of 10 events that have happened or will happen soon at school. Hopefully, there is at least one item on the list that you can talk about this weekend.

1. BISAC Volleyball, Softball, and Tennis teams have their BISAC Tournaments on Saturday. Good luck to all student-athletes!

2. Earth Week. Many middle school students were involved in Earth Week activities. In fact, all three grades had more points that any other grade (with 6th grade in first place, 7th grade in second place, and 8th grade in third place). One big result from Earth Week is the cafeteria will no longer sell plastic water bottles. So don’t forget to bring your own reusable water bottle to school. Check out some photos of the Earth Week Fair HERE

3. Alternative Dress Day next Friday, May 4 will be Twin Day.

4. MS Art Show started on Wednesday, and run until May 3. Come visit the Chevron Gallery to view some wonderful art by middle school students.

5. Where Words Fail, Music Speaks. The Middle School String Orchestra and Choir Spring Concert will be Thursday, May 3 starting at 6:30pm in the Chevron.

6. Bangkok Youth Film Festival. Have you created a video for class or on your own. If so, think about submitting it to the Bangkok Youth Film festival. You have until May 1 (next Tuesday). Stop by Mr. Kenney’s room, 315, or check this website for further details: https://www.bangkokyouthfilm.org/

7. Our All-Middle Community Assembly with Amy Krouse Rosenthal today (Friday) was a great success. Amy talked about how we can Enhance Our World by doing small acts of kindness. Have a look at Amy’s website  and check out a couple of her short videos. “Kindness Thought Bubble” and “Positive Pranking” are two that middle school students might enjoy.

8. Colgate Kids Triathlon on May 7th. Registration will close on Monday, April 30th. Don’t miss out. For more information go to https://inside.isb.ac.th/cao/2011/08/16/colgate-kids-triathlon/.

9. Net Ball! This new middle school activity will start on Thursday, May 3 at 2:15-3:15pm in the gym. No previous experience necessary – just a bundle of enthusiasm and energy!

10. Stay Hydrated. With all this heat, make sure you drink lots of water!
