Day Two Copper plate etching – with K. Axe from Pineapple Print Press

Etching is a centuries old method for creating prints. In this workshop delegates will learn about the various printmaking techniques and the process of copper plate etching. Using their own original drawings, participants will learn how to draw onto the copper plate, etch it in an acid bath, then ink and print on paper and fabric.

1. Axe is a former professor of printmaking at Mongkol University. He is working towards his doctorate in the medium and recently opened his own studio, Pineapple Print Press, where he hosts workshops and visiting artists and shares his love of printmaking.
