Amidst the Hue of Red Lanterns

Two of my cousins visited Taiwan for the first time a couple of years ago. Something eminent from that weekend was walking under the red lanterns of JiuFen, considering it was my first time there despite living in Taiwan for the majority of my life. I used watercolor to illustrate the glow of each food vendor and I opted to utilize traditional calligraphy ink as a means of representing Taiwanese culture.
