Period 7/8:
- Finish the essay you started in class today.
- Read for 30 minutes.
- Study for vocabulary quiz on Wednesday.
Period 5/6:
1. Read for 30 minutes.
2. Finish your Rice Without Rain Ning quotations.
Quotation 1: Setting or one of the places in the story.
Quotation 2: Relationship between two characters.
Quotation 3: Metaphors, similies or symbols explored in the book.
Quotation 4: Quote that relates to the meaning or the theme of the book.
- Your quotations can be something someone says, something that describes a place or event and/or a passage that explains someone’s thoughts or feelings.
- When you choose your quotations, you should think about how they relate to the literary features of setting, plot, character and metaphor.
- You should also find a photo on the internet that you feel best symbolizes or represents the meaning of each quotation.
- Put the photos and quotations in a new blog post on the Ning.

Period 5/6:

- Read for 30 minutes.
- Study for vocabulary quiz tomorrow.
