Extra Credit
August 26th, 2009 by Humanities 8 Journey
Check here for ways that you can earn extra credit by making extra connections to what we are learning in humanities. See Mr. Kenney for further details and expectations. Here are some extra connections you might consider:
Preview to South Africa
Share what you know about South Africa. It needs to be some topic that you are pretty sure your audience (the class) will find interesting. It also needs to be of some substance (e.g., not simply telling us that South Africa is hosting the World Cup).
Young Writers’ Awards
Check Panthernet for directions to this activity. You can submit all kinds of genre in writing, e.g., poetry, essay, short story, blog post. Before or after you upload your writing piece, share with the class. Good luck!
Edublog Challenge: See details at the Sept. 12 post on this blog.
Memoir in a poem: Check the August 20th post - Memoir in Music, Poetry and a Six-Word Contest. Create a poem of 8 lines or more, based on your memoir. Go over the poem with Mr. Kenney, and then get ready to upload the poem to your blog.
Literary Vodcast: Create a video about a book that you have read during Grade 8 that has had a more-than-usual impact on your life. Click on the Literary Vodcasts link at this blog and view the samples from last year. Check with Mr. Kenney on the kind of video file we need for uploading purposes.
