Welcome to the High School at ISB!  As you know, Grade 9 students are expected to read “Hereos, Gods, and Monsters of the Greek Myths” by Bernard Evslin over the summer.  The below worksheet is due on the first day of class.  You will be expected to turn this in immediately and you are responsible to know the information covered in the novel.    I have attached it below if you to refresh your memory.

English 9 Summer Reading Assignment                       Name: _______________________________

Please read Heroes, Gods, and Monsters of Greek Myths, by Bernard Evslin over the summer.  As you read, record BRIEF jot notes on each of the gods/characters listed below.  You must write notes in your own words.  Copying directing from the book, or from a website, will result in your earning a score of zero on this assignment – not a good way to start a new school year…    This assignment is due on the first week of school.  If you do not complete this, you will earn a zero.

It is STRONGLY recommended that you hand-write the brief summaries.  Typed summaries MAY (or may not) be accepted by your English 9 teacher, and you will have to submit any typed summaries to turnitin.com at the start of the year.
