By Friday 20th May you need to submit a portfolio of your poetry. It needs to include at least 6 poems that you have written. Use this sheet to guide you in your revisions of your poems. Choose one to recite/read to the class.

is to annotate the four poems given in class today, Arithmetic, Dreams, A Few Thousand Days and In the End. You will need to refer to your poetic devices sheet. You need to find examples of at least 10 terms on the sheet. You need to comment on specific lines you like.

Happy Royal Wedding Day to all those celebrating the marriage of HRH Prince William of England to Kate Middleton. Cucumber sandwiches, scones, strawberries and cream will be served in their honour……

On a more serious note: Study for your vocabulary quiz on Monday and make sure your short story is in a printable condition by 7 pm Sunday when I will print it.

Here are your assignments to be completed by next Thursday.

  1. Finish your MDG essay. You need to use all the feedback you have received on your essay.
  2. Write two paragraphs on the Hunger posters. Click here for instructions.
  3. Work on your vocabulary. This needs to be finished by FRIDAY 22nd. You will need to divide the work among your group.  Instructions are here.
  4. Write a short story. Writing resources are under the Resources tab at the top of this page. Check to make sure what are the essential components of a good short story.
